Gay Bars Puerto Vallarta Toplist: 6 Best Gay Bars Puerto Vallarta You Should Come Once

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico’s most famous LGBT seaside town, has a bustling gay nightlife culture with over 20 taverns, bars, and nightclubs. If you want to find a great place to have fun yet feel lost among numerous gay clubs in the area, our Gay bars Puerto Vallarta top list is for you!

Mr. Flamingo

Mr. Flamingo is the gay club that everybody in Puerto Vallarta visits at least once while being on holiday. It’s the area’s premier drinking spot, a favorite place to chill with some alcohol before hitting the clubs in the early hours.

Mr. Flamingo’s layout wears a Hawaiian beach bar style. The favorable position is its biggest advantage. It sits on the crossroads of 2 of Puerto Vallarta’s biggest roads in the gay neighborhood.

Stop by Mr. Flamingo to enjoy graffiti paintings of iconic LGBT figures such as Britney Spears painted on its garages in the daytime. When night falls, the area expands as the bar pulls all their gates up.

Mr. Flamingo also offers an excellent site for dancing underneath a disco ball. A diverse audience of gay and bisexual males, regional Mexicans, and straight ladies enjoy swaying to good old hits by the Dixie Chicks, Mariah Carey, or Madonna.

Paco’s Ranch

Paco’s Ranch is among Puerto Vallarta’s oldest gay clubs. Its current site is only a street from the historic Paco Paco’s.

Paco’s Ranch, which has long been a hub of nightlife in Puerto Vallarta, is among the Mexican seaside city’s most renowned late-night gay bars. One of the things that help this club stand out is its unique music. Indeed, the DJs onsite are well-known for mixing pop goodies with country oldies.

Moreover, on the main floor, there are also a large U-shaped bar, a dancefloor, and a wrap-around mezzanine deck from which you can see the activities beneath.

Additionally, Paco’s Ranch is also the best gay club in Puerto Vallarta for seeing drag performances. The drag performances are usually staged on Tuesdays at 1:30 a.m. and Wednesdays to Sundays at 12:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.

Paco’s Ranch is accessible from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. all week. Cocktail hour runs from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. every day of the week.

La Noche

La Noche started off as a modest cocktail pub in Puerto Vallarta in 2002. It currently offers 3 bars, a stage, plus a rooftop after its complete rebuild.

Although the first floor is the hub of activities, don’t hesitate to walk to the 2nd and 3rd floors. There’s an open-air palm rooftop with stunning sights over Zona Romantica and also the Sierra Madre peaks.

La Noche is now well-known for lip-syncing drag performances, skillful go-go dancers, and mouth-dropping circus stunts. Meanwhile, its pre-club activity is also super famous among both locals and visitors, thanks to its muscular bartenders who serve cocktails to old-school house soundtracks.

This bar is accessible all week from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Its iconic go-go dance performances take place every Thursday to Sunday around 11:30 p.m.

Anonimo Video Bar

Anonimo Video Bar is a well-known LGBT in Puerto Vallarta, thanks to its excellent service and unique hole-in-the-wall design. At the main entrance, you’ll discover a small bar with 2 displays that stream music clips.

Anonimo indicates “anonymous” in Spanish, encouraging lone visitors to sit at the bar and match other people. It’s recently added a 3rd story and a large roof deck with a large graffiti artwork of an iguana.

Anonimo Video Bar is accessible every day from 3 p.m. until 2 a.m. Cocktail hour starts from 4 to 7 p.m.

Los Amigos

Los Amigos is a gay Mexican tavern housed on the 3rd floor of a centuries-old architecture in the Zona Romantica neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta. Inside, there’s a billiard area, a U-shaped bar, a spacious open deck, and 2 big movie displays. We recommend going to Los Amigos within the night hours to get the most fun here.

While it sounds pretty high-end, you won’t have to spend a fortune here. Indeed, you won’t spot any expensive beverages on the menu. This is because Los Amigos is among Puerto Vallarta’s most affordable gay clubs.

Let’s just enjoy billiards with other visitors while drinking $2 packs of Corona or Modelo Especial!

CC Slaughters

CC Slaughters is an LGBT nightclub and disco floor in Puerto Vallarta, originating from an idea in Portland, Oregon.

The moniker CC Slaughter derived from Christopher Columbus Slaughters and was first used by John Adams in May 1981. He was a well-known Texas farmer who was said to have come out as gay shortly after his wife passed away.

John Houston, the current owner of CC Slaughter, toured Puerto Vallarta back in 2010. As John stated, he instantly developed a strong connection with the area and its locals. And that’s why on Dec 9, 2011, he opened CC Slaughters Puerto Vallarta, and the business has grown prominently until this day.

The facility consists of 2 parts: a narrower entrance area (with video displays and windows that face Lazaro Cardenas Str) and a larger back area (with video displays and windows that look over Lazaro Cardenas Str).

The 2nd floor has a stronger nightclub feeling, with local gays and visitors dancing until the sun rises. The nightclub portion of CC Slaughters is air-conditioned and has seats for couples, couches, and a large leveled dancing platform.

After over 10 years in the field, I've learned enough about the "business" of travel to pass along some precious insights to other globetrotters. You can call me a seasoned-world traveler or an "off-the-grid" pioneer, as I've actually dabbled in both. Traveling is part of my whole life; thus, I go out of town at least once a month for new getaways. Hopefully, all tips and tactics I've picked up along the way can help anyone as enthusiastic about exploring the globe as I am.
